Digital Stories

Published by skambalu at 8:40 pm under Web 2.0, twitter, website

An interesting way to “read” stories can be found here. Penguin are involved in telling stories where you can follow the footsteps of the characters on GoogleEarth, or read their blogs and follow using Twitter. Very interesting … I have just read The 21 Steps, and the second story, Slice, is on the go now. A very “Web 2.0″ way of telling stories!

Thanks for sharing information about the Penguin site. It’s a brilliant idea and good on Penguin for doing it.

I especially liked the use of Google Maps in 21 Steps and wonder if that’s something I could try with students… Google Map fiction… Hmm!

David, thanks for your comments. I am also wondering how I could use Google Maps with my students … would it be possible to set up a “walking in the footsteps of Jesus” task for my Year 9s? I wonder where to start … Any ideas? Anyone?

I replied to your comments on my blog, but thought I’d copy a bit here too…

As for the Google Earth footsteps of Jesus idea… check out Geography of Passion Week and Passion Week in Google Earth. A search for “Google Earth” on the ESV blog throws up a few more ideas and the OpenBible is just stuffed full of stuff! Hope these prove useful.
