How to set up a wiki!

Published by skambalu at 11:12 pm under Uncategorized

Wikispace tutorial – I have decided that I need to do more research into wikis – there are so many things you can do with them, and I’ve been planning on using them for a while. I have set one up, but it’s not been used yet … In the meantime, you can look at the tutorial on setting up a new wiki.

I’ve been thinking about Wikis too, Susan, because there’s a lot of potential there for pupil participation. I’ve seen shared vocab lists (for languages) for example.

I’m too busy to play with the technology at the moment but if I get the chance after all this horrid work, reports, work grind (or over the Christmas holidays) I will let you know what I do/find out. Also I will be keeping an eye on what you are doing with Wikis.

PPS French blog has had a flurry of activity today because I finally published a couple of podcasts by our Y11 pupils.

    lol (as the Y11s say)

Susan, After much thought and not much action, today I had my Y12s join a Wiki that I created earlier this week in order to build lists of AS vocabulary for French topics. Not only will it reduce work for them and encourage collaborative learning, it will be a useful resource for future years, I hope.

…. the links of interest are on the right hand side under blogroll, too – l’environnement – Y12 list; les medias – Y12 list; and la publicite – Y12 list. There may be mistakes – their homework is to check for errors and edit!

    Best wishes, Janet
